Refining Flux Can Improve the Metal Smelting Process
Refining flux can be widely used in metal smelting and foundry industry. It is compounded by multiple elements, which is more beneficial to metal smelting after adding. In the process of smelting, it is difficult in deoxidation, desulfurization, dephosphorization, and degassing. Using the refining flux during the smelting process, various impurities can be effectively removed, which make the metal more pure.
Adding refining flux is more conducive to metal smelting
If the gas and impurities cannot removed in time during the metal smelting process, it will occur defects such as pores, cracks, cold insulation, and shrinkage, which will result in product quality degradation. After adding the refining flux, the technical deficiency encountered in the metal casting process can be eliminated. The flux can also achieve the effect of grain refining, the fluidity of the metal can be enhanced, and the impurities of the metal melt can be eliminated in time.
In addition, during the smelting process, various oxides, sulfides, and silicates will be mixed in the metal; these impurities can be removed to improve the mechanical properties of the metal after adding the refining flux. In the smelting process, if the metal liquid is in contact with the atmosphere, stomata defects will appear, so the gas in the metal solution must be removed in time to improve its mechanical properties.
Addition can purify the metal melt and eliminate the exhaust gas in the melt in time. It has obvious deoxidation, desulfurization, and dephosphorization functions, thereby reducing the impurity content in the melt. Adding a refining flux can separate the residue, effectively eliminate the exhaust gas by mixing with the liquid, prevent pinholes, and also avoid defects such as slag inclusion, ash inclusion, pores, nodules, and cold insulation. There are various kinds of refining flux, such as flux for aluminum melting, cover flux for aluminium, etc..
The refining flux needs to be used according to the conventional method. Because the amount of the refining flux is relatively small, it cannot be expected that the existing reduction and deoxidation can be processed. If there are crusts and slag on the surface during smelting, the surface scum should be removed in time before pouring.
