Granulated Fuse Flux

General Description of Granulated Fuse Flux

GRANULAR FLUX is synthetic binary salt based on de-hydrated salts in form granular & spherical

Melting Point: 432℃

Color: light yellow and light grey

Size of Granulated Fuse Flux

Granule 0.8-3.25mm, 1-4mm,1-5mm,1-10mm
Spherical 0.15-0.6mm, 1-2mm, 0.6-1mm
Other size can be adjusted according to customer request.

The function of Granulated Fuse Flux

Removal of alkali metals (Sodium, Calcium, and Lithium), non-metallic inclusions & Hydrogen during melting and foundry of Aluminum and Aluminum alloys, especially Al/Mg alloys.
Chemical Composition: kmgcl3, k2mgcl4, k3mgcl7

Packing of Granulated Fuse Flux

1. 2.0kg or 2.5kg or 5kg heat sealed polyethylene (PE) bags into 20 or 25kgs bags or cartons with or without pallet
2. Special packing may be offered on request

Benefits of Granulated Fuse Flux
  • Free of fluorides. no fluoride emissions. HCl and particulate stack emissions below new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Emission Standards for HAP (USA)
  • Non-hazardous compound
  • Low melting point for rapid dispersion
  • Increases the extrusion speed and die life when extruding profiles
  • Eliminates edge cracks when rolling high Mg aluminum alloys
  • Reduces the number of breaks in continuous casting
  • Granular form and spherical form in any size available for injection
  • Replaces chlorine gas in furnace fluxing
  • Produce dry dross
  • Keeps the furnace, launders, in-line degassers and casting nozzles free from sludge and dross buildup
  • Low dosage. usual application rate is about 0.25-1% by the weight
  • Reduces hygroscopicity in comparison to magnesium chloride powder flux.

WARNINGS of Granulated Fuse Flux

Sata GFF has a shelf life of 12 months if stored in the normal temperature and closed shaded dry area in undamaged original packing. Care should be taken to prevent moisture pick-up during storage, especially after bags have been opened.
